1July 28th, 2012 - On Saturday night the finale for the 2nd Annual World Modified Dirt Track Championship was held at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) in front of a capacity crowd at the famed oval. Via his performance on his qualifying night on Thursday evening Dereck started tenth in the 75 lap finale, which boasted a $25,000 winner's check. The team was excited about their chances in the main event, but they would see this hopes quickly dashed by mechanical woes. He was involved in a lap 1 melee, and at the time didn't realize that it collapsed a header. As the race went green again he advanced to the fifth position before the collapsed header forced him to retire on lap 9 to a disappointing 31st place finish in the mega-event. July 26th, 2012 - Thursday evening found Dereck entering a preliminary night for the 2nd Annual World Modified Dirt Track Championship at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota), which posts a $25,000 winner's check for Saturday night's finale. With 50 entries in action, Ramirez qualified sixth fastest in his group. With the top six qualifiers in each group inverted for heat race action, he earned the pole position for the fourth heat race and would go on to claim the heat win to lock into the fourth starting spot for the main event. He would run in the top five for the duration of the event before making a late race charge to a second place finish behind race winner, Stormy Scott. `July 22nd, 2012 - Dereck concluded the busy, four day stretch with the Caseys USMTS Modified tour on Sunday night with a $4,000-to-win, national championship event at Nobles County Speedway (Worthington, Minnesota). With twenty-one competitors in action he finished fifth in his heat race to earn the fifteenth starting spot for the 40 lap finale. In the main event he passed five cars on his way to a tenth place finish at the checkered flag. Full results are available at www.USMTS.com.

July 21st, 2012 - The second night of the 2nd Annual Silver Dollar Nationals was held on Saturday `night at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) as twenty-eight cars entered the $2,000-to-win, Casey's Cup Qualifier event. Heat race action found Dereck winning the second heat race to lock into the redraw for the 35 lap feature, where he received the third starting spot. Early in the event he slipped as far back as the eighth position before rebounding to a sixth place finish. Full results are available at www.USMTS.com.

`July 20th, 2012 - Ramirez Motorsports traveled to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) on Friday night for the opening round of the 2nd Annual Silver Dollar Nationals. The $4,000-to-win, Casey's USMTS event saw a strong field of thirty-two competitors in action, and Dereck blasted from the third starting spot to claim the win in the second heat race. On the heels of the win he transferred to the redraw, where he received the fourth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. In the main event Ramirez would battle the setup as he slipped to a ninth place finish by the time that the checkered flag flew. Full results are available at www.USMTS.com.

July 19th, 2012 - Dereck opened a four-race weekend on Thursday night as the Casey's National Championship tour invaded `Raceway Park (Jefferson, South Dakota) for a $4,000-to-win event. While Ramirez didn't lock into the feature via heat race action he finished second in the b-main to earn the fourteenth starting spot for the 40 lap finale. He would mount a great charge in the feature as he advanced eleven spots on his way to a third place finish behind race winner, Ryan Gustin, and Jason Hughes. He also was the recipient of the Mesilla Valley Transportation Hard Charger Award for his efforts. Full results are available at www.USMTS.com.

`July 14th, 2012 - The team concluded their tripleheader weekend on Saturday evening as they made their second trip of the season to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) for another $4,000-to-win, Casey's USMTS National Championship event. With forty-two entries in the pits Ramirez advanced from the fourth starting spot in his heat to a second place finish to lock into the redraw for the feature. In the redraw he received the pole position for the 35 lap finale with Ryan Gustin starting alongside him. Gustin snagged the lead at the drop of the green flag and Ramirez pursued him for the duration of the event before settling for a second place finish, which marked his best tour finish thus far into the 2012 season.

`July 13th, 2012 - Friday night found the team rolling into Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) as the Casey's USMTS tour made its debut at the state-of-the-art, 3/8 mile oval. Forty-six cars were on hand for the event, and Dereck began his night by advancing from the seventh starting spot to a fifth place finish in his heat. His heat performance did not earn Ramirez enough points to lock into the feature, and as a result he had to run a b-main. A sixth to fourth run in his b-main locked him into the nineteenth starting spot for the 40 lap, $5,000-to-win feature. J`uly 12th, 2012 - Thursday evening found Ramirez Motorsports opening a tripleheader weekend with a $4,000-to-win, Casey's USMTS National Championship event at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri). Thirty-seven competitors were on hand for the event, and after winning the third heat race Dereck locked into the redraw for the main event. He was the lucky recipient of the second starting spot for the 40 lap feature as he joined Chris Brown on the front row. Ramirez battled for the lead early in the event before ultimately slipping to a sixth place finish behind race winner, Ryan Gustin, Chris Brown, Johnny Scott, Zack VanderBeek, and Jon Tesch.
