`August 24th, 2013 - The Hunt for the Casey's Cup was back in full swing on Thursday evening with a trip to Valley Speedway (Grain Valley, Missouri) for a $3,000-to-win race that saw 36 entries in the pits.

After drawing a big number at registration Dereck failed to advance to the feature via heat race action, but a 4th place finish in his b-main positioned him starting 20th on the grid for the 40 lap feature. In the main event he passed nine cars to finish 11th at the checkered flag.

The 1/2 mile confines of Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) awaited the USMTS competitors on a warm Friday evening as 42 entries looked to battle for the $5,000 top prize. Heat race and b-main action found Dereck falling just short of transferring to the feature, and as a result he utilized a series provisional to start 25th in the feature. In the main event Ramirez advanced more spots than any other driver as he passed fifteen cars to finish 10th.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday evening with a $5,000-to-win bout at the Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma), where 35 entries registered for action. Another night with a big pill draw positioned Dereck starting at the tail of his heat race, and he failed to advance any spots in the heat, which sent him to a b-main. In his b-main he finished 4th, which allowed him to start the main event in the 19th spot. During the course of the 30 lap feature he advanced seven spots to finish 12th.

Ramirez is ninth in the latest Hunt for the Casey's Cup standings. Full results from the events as well as the latest standings are available at www.USMTS.com.

`August 18th, 2013 - After a more than forgettable stretch of outings with the Hunt for the Casey's Cup last week, Dereck Ramirez was looking for better luck on Wednesday as the first round of five straight events was held with a trip to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin.

Forty-two entries filled the pit area, and Dereck started his night by winning his heat race from the 3rd starting spot to lock into the redraw for the $3,000-to-win feature. In the redraw he received the 4th starting spot for the feature and would go on to race in the top five throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in the 2nd spot.

On Thursday night the team hoped to carry their momentum into Rice Lake Speedway (Rice Lake, Wisconsin) in a $3,000-to-win slate. With 41 entries in the pits Dereck earned the 23rd starting spot for the feature after finishing 6th in his b-main. However, Ramirez battled the handle throughout the feature before ultimately finishing 26th in the feature.

Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) was the destination for the team on Friday evening as a $3,000-to-win race was held at the 3/8 mile oval. Thirty-six entries converged on the facility for the program, and via preliminary action Ramirez started 17th in the feature but would fade to finish 21st in the final rundown.

Saturday took the team to Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) for a $3,000-to-win race. A 7th to 4th run in his heat race locked Dereck into the feature in the 11th starting spot. In the main event he enjoyed a strong run as he passed five cars to finish 5th behind race winner, Jason Krohn, Jason Hughes, Jeremy Payne, Dave Mass, and Johnny Scott.

The ultra-busy weekend drew to a close on Sunday evening with a $5,000-to-win slate at Granite City Speedway (Sauk Rapids, Minnesota). Thirty competitors registered for battle, and a big number at the pill draw left Dereck starting 8th in his heat race. He passed three cars to finish 5th, which sent him to a b-main. He stormed to the b-main win to earn the 13th starting spot for the feature, where he would pass two cars to finish 11th.

Ramirez is eighth in the latest Hunt for the Casey's Cup standings. Full results from the events as well as the latest standings are available at www.USMTS.com.

`August 11th, 2013 - Dereck Ramirez and Ramirez Motorsports participated in a busy, four-day stretch on the Hunt for the Casey's Cup over the weekend with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).

On Thursday night a $5,000-to-win program was held under threatening skies at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri), where 29 entries registered for action. A 5th to 3rd run in his heat race locked Ramirez into the 9th starting spot for the 40 lap finale. He raced in the top ten throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in the 9th position.

While Friday night's program at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) was claimed by Mother Nature, racing was able to resume on Saturday night with a trip to the state-of-the-art, Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri). Forty-five entries took part in the $5,000-to-win race, and while he failed to qualify for the feature a win in his b-main locked Dereck into the 14th starting spot for the 40 lap feature. For the second straight night Ramirez would struggle to advance any positions as he crossed the finish line in 14th.

The weekend concluded on Sunday evening at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) with a $3,000-to-win program as threatening skies once again lurked on the horizon. A 3rd place finish in his b-main sent Ramirez to the 18th starting spot spot for the feature. He would advance a few spots early in the feature before a mechanical failure on lap 12 ended his night in the 23rd position.

`August 2nd, 2013 - Friday night found Dereck entering the opening night of the Hunt for the Casey's Cup, which was held at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas).

The $3,000-to-win race found 45 entries on hand at the 3/8 mile oval, and struggles in preliminary action sent Ramirez to the b-main. After starting 4th he would unfortunately slip to a 12th place finish, which left him short of a transfer spot to the feature and resulted in his night coming to an early end.

The remainder of the weekend would fall victim to rain.
