1July 27th, 2013 - Dereck Ramirez was finally able to participate in his qualifying night for the 3rd Annual World Dirt Track Modified Championship at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) on Friday afternoon as the program was delayed from Thursday evening by rain.

Ramirez started the night by qualifying 2nd fastest in his group, and with the top six cars inverted for heat race action he started in the 5th spot and would finish 4th. His heat race performance failed to transfer him to the feature, but a 4th place finish in his b-main positioned Ramirez starting 19th in the feature. He would go on to advance to a 12th place finish.

Dereck would use his mulligan to run Friday night's qualifying program as he locked to improve his position in the points. Unfortunately it would prove to not be the best of nights for the Oklahoma driver as he earned the 22nd starting spot for the feature via preliminary action but would only be able to manage an 18th place finish.

Dereck entered Saturday night 42nd in points of the 81 entries, who had participated in the event. As a result he had his work cut out for him as he faced the challenge of coming from deep in the C-main to the feature event. A 10th to 4th run in the C-Main transferred Ramirez to the 18th starting spot for the B-main. Unfortunately he would fail to advance to a transfer spot to the feature in the B-main as his weekend came to an early end.
