`May 25th, 2013 - Dereck Ramirez has been battling Mother Nature and USMTS competitors during Memorial Day weekend action in his #4r Ramirez Motorsports/Hughes/Pro Power Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified entry.

Wednesday night's event at I-35 Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) fell victim to rain, but on Thursday evening the tour was able to sanction a $4,000-to-win program at Fairmont Raceway (Fairmont, Minnesota). With twenty-eight entries in the pit area Ramirez finished fourth in his heat to lock into the sixteenth starting spot for the 40 lap finale. He would go on to advance to a twelfth place finish at the checkered flag.

Friday night took the team to Chateau Raceway (Lansing, Minnesota) for another $4,000-to-win program. Dereck raced to his heat race victory to lock into the redraw for the feature. Unfortunately rain would arrive soon after heat races forcing the event to be postponed to a future date.

The weekend concluded on Saturday evening at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) with a $2,000-to-win event that attracted forty-three entries to the famed oval. Dereck started his night by winning his heat race from the second starting spot to lock into the redraw for the feature. He received the sixth starting spot for the feature in the redraw, and on a track that quickly took rubber in the feature he would race his way to a fifth place finish behind race winner, Brandon Davis, Stormy Scott, Ron Jones, and Jason Cummins.

`May 18th, 2013 - Friday night saw the team traveling to LA Raceway (La Monte, Missouri) for a $2,000-to-win, USMTS program at the 1/2 mile oval. Thirty racers converged for the event, and a third place finish in his heat race positioned Dereck starting tenth in the 40 lap finale. He raced around the tenth position for much of the feature before finishing just outside the top ten with an eleventh place finish.

Saturday saw the stage for the USMTS competitors move to West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, Missouri) for a $2,000-to-win contest. Thirty-four Open Wheel Modifieds registered for action at the 1/3 mile, clay facility, and preliminary action saw Dereck earn the nineteenth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. During the course of the finale he mounted a great charge to advance twelve spots on his way to a seventh place finish.
