1April 26th, 2014 - On Friday night the team resumed action with the Casey's USMTS tour after seeing Thursday night's event at Cedar County Speedway (Tipton, Iowa) washed away by Mother Nature.

Twenty-one entries were on hand for the $2,000-to-win program at Bloomfield Speedway (Bloomfield, Iowa). Dereck began his night by advancing from the sixth starting spot to a fourth place finish in the third heat race to lock into the ninth starting spot for the 35 lap main event. Despite starting near the front of the back, Ramirez would battle the handle on his #4r Open Wheel Modified to a 20th place finish in the final rundown.

Another $2,000-to-win, Casey's General USMTS Open Wheel Modified event was held on Saturday night at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri), as a field of twenty-four competitors entered the event. Dereck started on the pole of his heat race before finishing in the second position, earning him a spot in the redraw for the evening's main event. He drew the sixth starting spot on the grid for the feature, and would battle the handle on his #4r entry throughout the event before settling to a twelfth place finish at the checkered flag.

1April 12th, 2014 - After a week away from the track, Dereck was back in action on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) in a $2,000-to-win, United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) event. With thirty-two entries in the pit area he advanced from fifth to third in his heat race, earning him the tenth spot on the grid for the 30 lap finale. During the course of the main event at the 3/8 mile oval, Ramirez advanced six spots on his way to a solid fourth place finish behind race winner Rodney Sanders, Stormy Scott, and Zack VanderBeek.

On Saturday night the tour rolled into Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) for another $2,000-to-win event. Thirty-five Open Wheel Modifieds were in action, and a big number at the pill draw left Dereck starting ninth in his heat race. Despite starting at the back of field in his heat race he passed six cars to record a third place finish, which sent him to the redraw for the main event. Ramirez drew the third starting spot for the 30 lap feature and went on to register a third place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner Bryan Rowland, and Zack VanderBeek.
