1July 26th, 2014 - Dereck Ramirez opened the 4th Annual World Modified Dirt Track Championship at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) on Thursday evening. Dereck struggled in preliminary action, finishing twelfth in his heat race, sending him to a b-main. The remaining 27 laps of the race was ran on Saturday night, and Ramirez managed a tenth place finish.

Dereck's preliminary night performances left him to run a b-main on Saturday evening. A ninth place finish in the b-main earned him the 21st starting spot on the grid for the $20,000-to-win finale. Ramirez went on to register a 21st place finish in the 100 lap feature event.
