1April 24th, 2016 - Returning with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Dereck Ramirez visited Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday night for the 5th Annual Tompkins Industries Rumble on the River’s Edge. Competing in a field of thirty-five cars, Ramirez secured his spot into the feature with heat race victory. Starting in 6th for the feature, Dereck gained one spot notching a 5th place finish behind Jesse Sobbing, Rodney Sanders, Johnny Scott, and Kerry Davis.

On Saturday Ramirez headed to Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Missouri) for the 6th Annual Sydenstricker Farm & Lawn Shootout. Hanging on to a 2nd place finish in his heat, Dereck transferred into the A-Main with a 10th place starting spot. Improving four positions in the 37-lap affair, Dereck Ramirez recorded a 6th place finish.

Wrapping up the busy three-day USMTS weekend, Dereck Ramirez made the trip to Atchison County Raceway (Atchison, Kansas) on Sunday for the Inaugural Cage Match presented by R&S Automotive. Capturing another heat race win, Dereck transferred into the A-Main with a front row starting spot starting alongside Cade Dillard. With $3,000 on the line, Ramirez fell back to a 6th place finish in the 52-lap A-Main.

1April 2nd, 2016 - Dereck Ramirez made the trip to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) King of America VI presented by Chix Gear. Drawing one-hundred and six entries for the opening night event, Dereck gained one spot in his first heat recording a 4th place finish. Improving two positions in his second heat, Ramirez recorded a 5th place finish and put himself in 33rd in the points standings going into Friday’s action. (CRP Photo)

1Advancing five positions in his first heat on Friday evening, Dereck scored a 5th place finish. Starting on the pole for his second heat, Ramirez held on capturing a 10-lap heat race win. Failing to achieve enough passing points to make the $12,000-to-win USMTS King of America VI A-Main, Dereck transferred into the C-Main on Saturday night for a shot to work his way into the feature.

Reeling in a 3rd place finish, Ramirez transferred into the B-Main for his last chance at the main event. Sending the top fourteen cars into the 72-lap A-Main, Dereck Ramirez fell back to 23rd place outing.
