1August 27th, 2016 - Opening the four-day stint with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Dereck Ramirez visited Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) on Thursday night for the ninth round of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. Running into mechanical issues before the night even started, Dereck failed to make it out for any events.

On Friday Dereck and the crew were able to get car back in shape to resume action at Rapid Speedway (Rock Rapids, Iowa). Gaining four spots in his heat, Ramirez scored a 5th place finish earning him the 12th-starting position for the feature. Passing one car in the 42-lap A-Main, Dereck Ramirez registered an 11th place finish.

Saturday night brought 31 entries to Park Jefferson Speedway (Jefferson, South Dakota) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Working his way up two spots in his heat, Dereck landed a runner-up finish behind Jesse Sobbing giving him the 5th-starting spot for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, Ramirez posted a 10th place outing.

For the 12th stop of The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup Dereck headed to Casino Speedway (Watertown, South Dakota) on Sunday or the inaugural Sandy Benson Memorial. Losing two positions in his heat, Ramirez logged a 6th place outing transferring him into the B-Main. Failing to place 5th or better, Dereck was granted a provisional into the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Coming from the 23rd-starting spot, Dereck Ramirez advanced four positions in the 52-lap feature recording a 19th place finish.

1August 21st, 2016 - Following the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to Adams County Speedway (Corning, Iowa) on Thursday night, Dereck Ramirez was one of 39 cars signed in for round six of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing and Rental. Starting on the pole of his heat, Ramirez scored a runner-up finish behind Zack VanderBeek earning him the 9th-starting spot for the feature. Battling for a $3,000 payday, Dereck dropped one position posting a 10th place finish.

With the weather postponing Friday night’s Grant Junghans Memorial, Dereck returned to action on Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma). Drawing a stout field of 64 Open Wheel Modifieds, Ramirez advanced six positions in his heat recording a 2nd place spot behind Daniel Hilsabeck. Earning the pole position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Dereck Ramirez registered a 11th place finish in the 32-lap affair.

On Sunday night the USMTS Series made the final stop of the weekend at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) for round eight of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Falling back to a 6th place outing in his heat, Dereck transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the feature. Sending the Top 6, Ramirez improved five positions in the 15-lap consolation event recording a 4th place spot. Starting in 23rd for the A-Main, Dereck Ramirez improved three positions registering a 20th place outing.

1August 13th, 2016 - After the weather rained out three consecutive United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) events, Dereck Ramirez returned to action on Saturday night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) for the fourth stop of The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. Logging a 4th place finish in his heat, Ramirez transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the feature. Placing 3rd, Ramirez earned the 18th-starting spot for the feature. Moving up nine positions in the 42-lapper, Dereck landed a 9th place finish.

Sunday night brought Ramirez to Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. After placing 5th in his heat, Dereck registered a 3rd place finish in the consolation event locking his spot into the show. Gaining three positions in the 42-lap A-Main, Dereck Ramirez recorded a 14th place outing.

1August 6th, 2016 - Kicking off the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) The Hunt powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Dereck Ramirez made the trip to Valley Speedway (Grain Valley, Missouri) on Thursday night. Drawing 31 cars, Ramirez cruised to an 8-lap heat race win giving him the 8th-starting position for the feature. Dropping out the Top 10, Dereck fell back to a 15th place outing.

The following night brought the USMTS followers to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas). Holding his starting position in his heat, Ramirez logged a 7th place outing sending him into the B-Main. Failing to place in the Top 5, Dereck relied on the use of a provisional to make the main event. Improving six positions in the 42-lapper, Dereck Ramirez recorded a 17th place finish.

On Saturday 45 USMTS Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the 7th Annual Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout. Posting a runner-up finish in his heat behind Stormy Scott, Ramirez earned the 11th-starting spot for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Dereck registered a 10th place finish.
