1February 27th, 2016 - Traveling to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Thursday night, Dereck Ramirez was one of sixty-five Open Wheel Modifieds signed in for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned 5th Annual Cajun Clash. Recording a 9th place outing in his heat, Ramirez transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the feature. Needing a 4th place finish to make the show, Dereck Ramirez logged an 11th place finish.

1Competing in the second night of action in the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Dereck transferred into the B-Main after placing 6th in his heat. Transferring the top three into the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Ramirez registered a 8th place outing in the 15-lap consolation event.

Drawing seventy-one entries on Saturday for the final night of the 5th Annual Cajun Clash, Dereck recorded a 4th place outing in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Battling for a 3rd place finish or better to make the feature, Ramirez fell one spot short with a 4th place finish.

1February 20th, 2016 - Kicking off the 2016 season, Dereck Ramirez made the trip to Heart O’ Texas Speedway (Elm Mott, Texas) on Thursday for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing and Rental. Drawing forty-seven cars for the opening night of the 7th Annual Day Motor Sports Texas Spring Nationals, Dereck improved three spots in his heat scoring a runner-up finish behind Cade Dillard. Starting in 8th for the A-Main, Ramirez gained one position in the 40-lap event recording a 7th place finish.

On Friday Dereck started the night off with a heat race victory sending him into the main event with a top five starting position. Battling for the $3,000-to-win main event, Ramirez fell one spot in the 45-lapper scoring a 4th place spot behind Ryan Gustin, Jason Hughes, and Zack VanderBeek with Cade Dillard coming in 5th.

Wrapping up the three-day USMTS stint at Heart O’ Texas Speedway on Saturday night, Ramirez stormed to the front in his heat from his 4th place starting spot.
