1June 25th, 2016 - Following the United Stated Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Dereck Ramirez visited I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Thursday night for the inaugural Widow Wax Summersota Nationals. Competing in two rounds of heat races for the first two nights, Ramirez gained four spots in his first heat placing 4th. Starting in 7th for his second, Dereck fell five spots logging a 12th place outing giving him 68 points after round one.

Capitalizing off his pole positon starting spot in his heat on Friday, Dereck charged to a 12-lap heat race win. Posting his second podium finish of the night, Ramirez stormed through the field in his second heat eleven spots to place 2nd behind Brad Dierks. After two rounds of heat action were completed on Friday, Dereck Ramirez was sitting in 3rd overall with 183.5 points.

With his ticket already punched into the $15,000-to-win Widow Wax A-Main on Saturday night, Dereck dropped back from his 3rd place starting spot to a 10th place finish in the 72-lap affair.

1June 11th, 2016 - Piloting the Boomtest Well Service #4R Open Wheel Modified, Dereck Ramirez was one of forty-one entries signed in at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) MSD Central Region event. Starting the night off with a heat race win, Ramirez earned a 7th place starting position for the feature. Improving one position in the A-Main, Dereck posted a 6th place finish

On Friday night the USMTS followers headed to Longdale Speedway (Longdale, Oklahoma) for the two-day 3rd Annual Rancho Milagro Showdown/Alyssa Ramirez Memorial. Charging to the front from his 6th place starting position in his heat, Ramirez captured another heat race win setting him up with a 6th pale starting spot for the feature. Dropping one position in the 37-lapper, Dereck recorded a 7th place finish.

For the third night in a row, Dereck Ramirez started his night off with a heat race victory locking his spot into the main event. With $3,000 on the line in the feature, Ramirez passed one car in the A-Main notching another 6th place outing.
