1May 29th, 2016 - Running with the United States Racing Association (USRA) series, Dereck Ramirez traveled to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) on Thursday night for the three-day Memorial Day weekend special. With thirty-six cars signed in, Ramirez recorded a runner-up finish in his heat behind Terry Schultz earning him a 10th place starting spot for the feature. Improving seven positions in the A-Main, Ramirez wheeled his way up to a 3rd place finish behind Terry Schultz and Johnny Fennewald with Eric Turner and Rc Whitwell rounding out the top five.

Starting in seventh for his heat race on Friday, Dereck gained two spots in his edging his way into the show. Slated to start 15th for the feature, Ramirez dropped three positons registering a 18th place outing.

Wrapping up three-day stint with the USRA series, Ramirez fell five spots in his heat logging n 8th place finish. Earning a 8th place starting position for the main event on Saturday night, Dereck worked his way up three spots notching a 5th place finish behind Mike Striegel, Johnny Fennewald, Eric Turner, and Terry Schultz.

1May 7th, 2016 - Competing with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Dereck Ramirez headed to Superbowl Speedway (Greenville, Texas) on Thursday night for the 2nd Annual North Texas Nationals. In a field of thirty-one cars, Ramirez transferred into the B-Main after placing 5th in his heat. Needing a top five finish to make the $3,000-to-win show, Dereck scored a 3rd place outing. Earning a 17th place starting spot for the feature, Ramirez stormed through the field twelve positions reeling in a solid 5th place finish behind Cade Dillard, Jesse Sobbing, Scott Drake, and Rodney Sanders. Dereck was also awarded the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award for his performance in the A-Main on Thursday night.

Friday night brought Ramirez to Lubbock Speedway (Lubbock, Texas) for the Production Jars Southern Region event presented by Day Motor Sports. Drawing thirty-three cars, Dereck scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Scott Drake earning him a 3rd place starting spot for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Dereck Ramirez fell one spot recording a 4th place finish behind Rodney Sanders, Jason Hughes, and Jesse Sobbing, with Cade Dillard coming in 5th.

Closing out the weekend, Dereck headed to Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) on Saturday night for the 7th Annual USMTS Amarillo Ambush. Placing 3rd in his 8-lap heat race, Ramirez went on to secure his spot into the feature with another 3rd place outing in his consolation event. Starting back in 18th, Dereck Ramirez advanced through the field ten spots notching an 8th place finish while also collecting his second KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award over the weekend.
