1September 30th, 2016 - On Thursday night Dereck Ramirez headed to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) for the Grant Junghans Memorial weekend. Passing two cars in his heat, Ramirez stormed to a heat race win locking his spot into one of the two opening night features. Slipping out of the Top 10, Dereck logged a 17th place outing in the 25-lapper.

1The following night for the Grant Junghans Memorial, Ramirez advanced nine positions in his heat landing a 3rd place finish and locking his spot into the main event. 1September 24th, 2016 - Running in the final round of The Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Dereck Ramirez traveled to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) on Thursday. Drawing 79 entries for the opening night of the 18th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree, Ramirez scored a heat race win putting him 8th on the starting rundown for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Holding his position for all 42-laps, Dereck posted an 8th place finish.

Returning on Friday night, Ramirez captured a heat race victory from the 2nd-starting position. Rolling off 11th for the A-Main, Dereck slipped back to a 16th place outing.

Closing out the 18th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree on Saturday, Ramirez earned the pole position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main after capturing a heat race victory. Falling one position short of a Top 5 finish, Dereck notched a 6th place finish in the 42-lap finale.

1September 10th, 2016 - Behind the wheel of the Red Bone Fishing & Rental #4R Open Wheel Modified, Dereck Ramirez made the trip to Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) on Thursday for the United States Racing Association (USRA) Modified Nationals. After gaining one spot in his heat and landing a runner-up finish behind Stormy Scott, Ramirez transferred into the B-Main. Cruising to a consolation victory, Ramirez earned the 17th-starting position for the opening night A-Main. Dropping one spot, Dereck logged an 18th place outing.

With the weather postponing Friday night’s scheduled events to Saturday morning, Ramirez registered a 5th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Posting a runner-up finish behind Johnny Scott, Dereck started 21st for the A-Main. Passing eight cars in the second round of preliminary features, Dereck Ramirez recorded a 12th place finish.

Later in the night for his final chance at the main event, Ramirez secured his spot with a 7th place finish in his B-Main. Rolling off 27th for the $40,000-to-win A-Main, Dereck charged through the field 14 positions scoring a 13th place finish.

1September 4th, 2016 - Competing in the 13th round of the Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey's Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Dereck Ramirez traveled to Fairmont Raceway (Fairmont, Minnesota) on Thursday night. With 25 cars signed in for the 9th Annual KEVKO Summer Spectacular presented by State Bank of Fairmont and Bill & Sandy Johnson, Ramirez gained three spots in heat registering a 4th place finish. Earning the 10th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Dereck passed one car in the 32-lapper posting a 9th place finish.

On Friday night Dereck headed to Chateau Raceway (Lansing, Minnesota) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Gaining two positions in his heat, Ramirez placed 4th sending him into the B-Main. Falling one position short of a transfer spot with a 6th place finish, Dereck was granted a provisional into the main event. Coming from the 24th-starting spot, Ramirez charged through the field nine positions registering a 15th place outing.

Drawing a stacked field of 58 cars, Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) was the next stop of the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup on Saturday. Following a 7th place finish in his heat, Ramirez advanced six positions in his consolation event recording a 3rd place finish. Earning the 20th-starting spot for the 11th Annual Barclay Landscaping Labor Day Dual A-Main, Dereck passed seven cars in the 42-lapper posting a 13th place finish.

Wrapping up the busy Labor Day Weekend, Ramirez invaded Cresco Speedway (Cresco, Iowa) on Sunday for second to last stop on the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. In a field of 31 cars for the 13th Annual Cresco Bowl, Dereck scored a 3rd place finish in his heat putting him 11th on the starting rundown for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Dereck Ramirez recorded a 7th place finish in the 42-lap feature.
