August 25th, 2017 - Kicking off the tenth round of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Hunt’s for Casey’s Cup, Dereck Ramirez invaded Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) on Wednesday night for the 11th annual Hamilton County Hullabaloo presented by Casey’s General Stores. Holding his spot in his heat, Ramirez scored a 3rd place finish earning him the 9th-starting position for the opening night feature. Coming one spot shy of a Top 5 finish, Dereck improved three spots in the 35-lapper to place 6th.

On Thursday night with 23 cars on hand at Nobles County Speedway (Worthington, Minnesota) for the 7th annual USMTS Summer Slam presented by Pace Performance, Ramirez secured his spot into the $3,000-to-win A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat. Rolling off 12th, Dereck charged through the field seven positions notching a 5th place finish behind Rodney Sanders, Cade Dillard, Jake O’Neil, and Ryan Gustin.

Making the twelfth stop of the tour, Dereck headed to Rapid Speedway (Rock Rapids, Iowa) on Friday evening for the 7th annual USMTS Rapid Rumbles presented by Casey’s General Stores. Rolling off on the pole of his heat race, Ramirez cruised to an 8-lap heat race win positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Working his way into the lead by lap 6, Dereck held the top spot until lap 23 when Rodney Sanders took the lead for the next five circuits. Wrestling away the top spot on lap 30, Dereck Ramirez held off the field in the remaining 10 laps to capture his first win of the season and a $5,000 payday. Following a rainout on Saturday night at Park Jefferson Speedway (North Sioux City, South Dakota), Dereck stopped at Casino Speedway (Watertown, South Dakota) on Sunday for the 2nd annual Sandy Benson Memorial presented by Riddle’s Jewelry and Jurgens Printing. Gaining one spot in his heat, Ramirez coasted to 8-lap heat race win earning him the 8th-starting position for the $4,500-to-win A-Main. Holding his spot for all 40-laps, Dereck posted an 8th place finish.

August 20th, 2017 - Dereck Ramirez returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Thursday evening at Pepsi Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri) for the seventh round of the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup presented by S&S Fishing & Rental. Rolling off on the pole of his heat race, Ramirez cruised to an 8-lap heat race win positioning him 8th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, Dereck slipped back to a 10th place outing.

The following night Ramirez was one of 76 cars on hand at Lakeside Speedway (Lakeside, Kansas) for the second annual Grant Junghans Memorial. Gaining six spots in his heat, Ramirez scored a 4th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 4 into the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Dereck notched a 2nd place finish behind Zack VanderBeek earning the 19th-starting position for the feature. Passing seven cars in the 42-lap affair, Dereck Ramirez reeled in a 12th place finish.

Saturday night brought 35 cars Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Kansas) for the 5th annual Salute to our Veterans presented by Safe Insure Plus. Improving four positions in his heat race, Ramirez posted a 4th place finish locking him into the 12th-starting position. Pulling off on lap 8 of the 35-lapper, Dereck was credited with a 23rd place outing.

Closing out the four-day stretch with the USMTS, Dereck visited 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Sunday evening. Following a 3rd place finish in his heat race, Ramirez cruised to a 15-lap consolation win positioning him 13th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. August 13th, 2017 - Wednesday night found Dereck Ramirez in action at Brown County Speedway (Aberdeen, South Dakota) for the second swing of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. With 24 cars on hand, Ramirez landed a 2nd place finish in his heat race behind Ricky Thornton Jr. earning him the 5th-starting position for the opening night feature. Holding his spot for all 40-laps, Dereck posted a 5th place spot behind Stormy Scott, Travis Sauer, Jason Hughes, and Ricky Thornton Jr.

After Thursday night’s USMTS event rained out at Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wisconsin), Dereck traveled to AMSOIL Speedway (Superior, Wisconsin) on Friday for the $4,000 top prize. Passing four cars in his heat race, Ramirez posted a 3rd place finish positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the feature. Dropping out of the Top 10 on a track that saw very rough conditions, Dereck slipped back to a 22nd place outing.

On Saturday night with 29 cars registered in for battle at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota), Dereck moved up one spot in his heat race to place 3rd. Rolling off 12th for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Ramirez gained one spot in the 40-lapper logging 11th place finish.

Wrapping up the second week in the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup, Ramirez stopped at Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Sunday for USMTS sanctioned program along with a make-up feature from June 11th. Improving four positions in his 8-lap heat race, Dereck reeled in a 4th place finish locking him into the 11th-starting spot for the feature. Breaking into the Top 10, Dereck Ramirez passed three cars to place 8th.

Starting in 11th for the $3,000-to-win make-up feature, Derek fell back to a 15th place finish in the remaining 27 laps.

August 4th, 2017 - Beginning the first round of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Dereck Ramirez visited Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) on Thursday night. Passing one car in his heat race, Dereck picked up an 8-lap heat race victory earning him the 3rd-starting position for the opening night feature. Coming up two spots shot of a Top 5 finish, Ramirez dropped back to a 7th place outing.

The following night with 39 cars signed in at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas), Ramirez held his spot in his heat race to place 2nd behind Jake Timm.
