June 18th, 2017 - On Wednesday night Dereck Ramirez traveled to Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) for the rescheduled the 2nd annual Chubbs Performance Midweek Madness presented by Victory Door Systems. Drawing 29 cars for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned opener, Ramirez held his 3rd-starting spot in his heat race earning him the 12th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Dereck jumped up three spots reeling in a 9th place finish.

The following night Dereck was one of 59 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the Prelude to The Modified Masters. Losing three spots in his heat race, Ramirez registered a 5th place finish giving him one last shot at the opening night feature with a B-Main appearance. Transferring the Top 4, Dereck came up two positions short with a 6th place outing.

On Friday night with 71 cars signed in for two rounds of heat races, Ramirez improved one spot in his first heat registering a 4th place finish. Starting in 6th in his second heat, Dereck scored a 5th place finish sending him into the B-Main on Saturday. Transferring the Top 14 cars into the show, Ramirez recorded a 9th place outing locking him into the 21st-starting position for the $50,000-to-win main event. After completing the first 24-laps, severe weather moved in postponing the remainder of the race to Sunday morning.

Returning on Sunday for the final 46-laps, Dereck Ramirez posted a 24th place finish in the 70-lap affair.

June 10th, 2017 - Dereck Ramirez opened a three-day stint in the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) MSD Central Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment on Tuesday night by traveling to Caney Valley Speedway (Caney Valley, Kansas). With 27 cars registered in for battle, Ramirez moved up three positions in his heat race to place 3rd, locking him into the 11th-starting spot for the opening night feature. Bringing home a Top 10 finish, Dereck advanced four positions in the 40-lapper recording a 7th place outing.

Wednesday night brought Ramirez to 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) for the 6th annual Summit “Showdown in the Playground”. Passing three cars in the 8-lap The Joie of Seating heat race, Ramirez scored a 3rd place finish positioning him 11th on the starting rid for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Dereck Ramirez jumped up five spots to place 6th.

The following night Dereck was one of 32 cars signed in at Salina Speedway (Salina, Kansas) for the inaugural event. Following a 4th place finish in his heat race, Ramirez locked his spot into the show with a 3rd place finish in his B-Main. After having Friday night off, Ramirez headed to Adams County Speedway (Corning, Iowa) on Saturday for the 8th annual Malvern Bank Duals. Improving three positions in his heat race, Dereck scored a 3rd place spot earning him the 5th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Sunday's Diamond Jo Casino "All-In" 77 at Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) was postponed due to the weather.
