May 28th, 2017 - Piloting the Sybesma Graphics #4R Open Wheel Modified, Dereck Ramirez was one of 36 Open Wheel Modified signed in at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) on Friday night kicking off the Memorial Day Weekend. Following a 5th place finish in his heat race, Dereck posted a 4th place finish in his B-Main locking him into the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned A-Main. Starting in 20th, Ramirez jumped up four spots to place 16th.

On Saturday following the USMTS RHRSwag.com Northern Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota), Ramirez started the night off with a heat race win locking him into the 15th annual A&A Electric Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge A-Main. Running into mechanical issues near the halfway point of the feature, Dereck was forced to withdraw from the A-Main on lap 29 while being credited with a 20th place outing.

Sunday brought Ramirez to Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa) for the 10th annual Nordic Nationals presented by Weis GMC Buick. Improving one spot in his heat race, Dereck notched a 2nd place finish behind Travis Saurer positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, Dereck Ramirez slipped back to a 9th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

May 19th, 2017 - Kicking off the first night of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) RHRSwag.com Northern Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment, Dereck Ramirez invaded I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Friday night for the 3rd annual Summersota Nationals presented by Barry Construction. Passing three cars in his 8-lap heat race, Dereck posted a 3rd place spot locking him into the 11th-starting position for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Ramirez slipped back to a 20th place outing in the 40-lapper.

May 13th, 2017 - Dereck Ramirez headed to Heart O’ Texas Speedway (Elm Mott, Texas) on Wednesday night to kick off the final weekend of the United States Modified Touring Series (USTMS) Summit Racing Southern Region presented by Production Jars. With 30 cars on hand for the 8th annual Texas Spring Nationals, Ramirez locked his spot into the opening night feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat race behind Bobby Malchus. Starting in 9th, Dereck jumped up two spots reeling in a 7th place finish.

After the weather rained on Thursday’s event, Ramirez traveled to Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale, Texas) on Friday for the 3rd annual Summit Showdown. Losing one spot in his heat race, Dereck logged a 4th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 5 into the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Ramirez stormed to a consolation win positioning him 14th on the starting grid for the feature. On Saturday for the Summit Spring Modified Nationals at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas), Dereck improved four spots in his heat race to place 7th. Earning the 9th-starting position for the Summit Racing Southern Region finale, Dereck passed two cars in the 35-lapper registering a 7th place spot.

May 4th, 2017 - Following the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Summit Racing Equipment Southern Region presented by Production Jars, Dereck Ramirez visited Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) on Thursday night for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Reeling in a 4th place finish in his heat race, Ramirez transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Cruising to a 15-lap consolation win, Dereck earned the 12th-starting position for the A-Main. Bringing home a Top 10 finish, Derek gained three positions scoring a 9th place outing.

The following night at West Texas Raceway (Lubbock, Texas), Ramirez secured his spot into the A-Main after he passed four cars in his heat to place 2nd behind Ryan Gustin. Rolling off 8th for the A-Main, Derek lost four spots in the 40-lapper logging a 12th place finish.

Wrapping up the three-day stint with the USMTS on Saturday, Dereck was one of 30 cars signed in at Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) for the 8th annual Amarillo Ambush. Holding his spot the entire distance of his 8-lap heat, Ramirez posted a 2nd place spot behind R.C. Whitwell positioning him 10th on the starting grid for the feature. Moving up three spots, Dereck Ramirez reeled in a 7th place finish.
