October 22nd, 2017 - Friday night found Dereck Ramirez in action at Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, New Mexico) for the opening night of the 18th annual Rancho Milagro USRA Fall Nationals presented by S&S Finish & Rental, Barnett Harley-Davidson and G3 Fitness. Improving six positions in his heat, Ramirez scored a 4th place finish sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 3 into the preliminary feature, Dereck posted a runner-up finish behind Ryan Gustin earning him the 18th-starting position. Coming one spot shy of a Top 10 finish, Ramirez gained seven spots logging a 11th place finish.

Starting Saturday off with a heat race victory, Dereck earned the 8th-starting spot for the final preliminary feature. Breaking into the Top 5, Ramirez gained four spots to place 4th behind Zack VanderBeek, Jake O’Neil, and Bumper Jones with Jason Hughes coming in 5th.

Rolling off 8th for the $20,000-to-win finale on Sunday, Dereck dropped four spots in the 50-lap affair registering a 12th place outing.
