April 29, 2018 - Following the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Dereck Ramirez visited West Texas Raceway (Lubbock, Texas) on Friday evening for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Moving up two spots in his heat, Ramirez recorded a 4th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top-4 to make the opening night feature, Dereck posted a runner-up finish behind Joe Duvall locking his spot into the show. Rolling off 17th, Dereck Ramirez gained nine spots to place 7th.

On Saturday night in a field of 42 cars at Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) for the 9th annual Amarillo Ambush, Ramirez jumped up four spots in his heat to place 2nd behind Nathan Hagar. Earning the 4th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Dereck fell two spots logging a 6th place outing.

Sunday brought 32 USMTS entries to Enid Speedway (Enid, Oklahoma) for the 2nd annual Oklahoma Spring Nationals. Starting the night off with a heat race win, Dereck locked into the 6th-starting position for the finale. Breaking into a podium spot, Ramirez reeled in a 3rd place finish behind Lucas Schott and Ryan Gustin with Johnny Scott and Rodney Sanders completing the Top-5 finishers.

April 22, 2018 - Friday night found Dereck Ramirez in action at Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, New Mexico) for the annual Short Track Shootout. With 53 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries on hand, Ramirez dropped one spot in his heat to place 9th. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature, Dereck scratched from the 18-lap consolation event and used a provisional into the show. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Dereck Ramirez stormed through the field 17 spots reeling in a 6th place finish.

The following night after jumping up three spots in his heat to place 5th, Dereck charged to an 18-lap consolation victory positioning him 14th on the starting grid for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Ramirez gained seven spots in the 40-lapper posting a 7th place outing. (Jim Rosas photo)

Wrapping up the Short Track Shootout on Sunday, Ramirez locked his spot into the finale with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Rolling off 9th, Dereck Ramirez jumped up one spot in the 40-lap affair to place 8th.

April 14, 2018 - Dereck Ramirez returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Friday night at Canyon Speedway Park (Peoria, Arizona) for the two-day special. Jumping up one spot in his heat race, Ramirez landed a 4th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top-5 into the opening night feature, Dereck scored a runner-up finish behind Rodney Sanders positioning him 16th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Dereck Ramirez wheeled his way through the field 11 spots to place 6th.

On Saturday night for the $3,375 top prize, Dereck captured a heat race with from the 6th-starting spot locking his spot into the feature. Rolling off 8th, Ramirez improved one spot in the 35-lap affair reeling in a 7th place outing.
