June 30, 2018 - On Thursday evening Dereck Ramirez was one of 22 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Nobles County Speedway (Worthington, Minnesota) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned Summer Slam. Jumping up three spots in his heat, Ramirez recorded a 5th place finish positioning him 12th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. The following night at Brown County Speedway (Aberdeen, South Dakota) for the 3rd annual Modified Showdown, Derek gained one position in his heat to pick up the 8-lap victory. Rolling off 4th, Dereck slipped back to a 14th place outing.

Wrapping up the three-day weekend, Ramirez stopped at Devil’s Lake Speedway (Lakota, North Dakota) on Saturday for the $3,000 top prize. Losing one spot in his heat, Dereck posted a 2nd place finish behind Lucas Schott positioning him 3rd on the starting grid for the finale. Falling short of a Top-5 finish, Dereck Ramirez slipped back to a 7th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

June 16, 2018 - Kicking off the 2nd annual Modified Masters, Dereck Ramirez was one of 58 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Thursday evening for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned weekend. Jumping up one spot in his heat, Ramirez recorded a 6th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 4 to make the opening night feature, Dereck passed four cars to place 3rd. Rolling off 20th, Dereck Ramirez improved four spots in the 40-lapper logging a 16th place outing.

On Friday night for two rounds of heat races, Dereck streaked through the field seven spots in his first heat to pick up the win. Rolling off 5th in his second heat, Ramirez jumped up one spot to place 4th. Earning a spot into the 12-lap Pole Dash, Dereck Ramirez topped the 12-car field positioning him on the pole for the $40,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday night. Hanging on to a podium spot, Dereck Ramirez landed a 3rd place finish behind Rodney Sanders and Cade Dillard with A.J. Diemel and Jason Hughes completing the Top-5 finishers.

June 9, 2018 - Dereck Ramirez returned with United States Modified Touring Series on Thursday night at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) kicking off the Sunflower State Showdown. Passing three cars in his heat race, Ramirez recorded a 4th place finish positioning him 12th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top 10, Dereck gained two spots 40-lapper to place 10th.

The following night for round two of the Sunflower State Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park (Dodge City, Kansas), Dereck dropped two spots in his heat logging a 3rd place finish. Transferring into the B-Main, Ramirez cruised to a 10-lap consolation victory locking his spot into the feature. Rolling off 14th, Dereck charged through the field nine spots reeling in a 5th place finish behind Rodney Sanders, Johnny Scott, Zack VanderBeek, and Ricky Thornton Jr.

Wrapping up the Sunflower State Showdown, Ramirez was one of 26 cars signed in at Salina Speedway (Salina, Kansas) on Saturday for the $3,000 top prize. Gaining four positions in his heat, Dereck landed a runner-up finish behind Corey Lagroon locking him into the 2nd-starting position for the feature. Hanging on to a podium finish, Dereck Ramirez posted a 3rd place spot behind Johnny Scott and Tanner Mullens with Jake O’Neil and Rodney Sanders completing the Top-5 finishers.
