May 27, 2018 - Saturday night found Dereck Ramirez in action at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned opener. With 44 cars signed in for the Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge, Ramirez dropped one spot in his heat race to place 2nd. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature, Dereck streaked to a 15-lap consolation victory. Starting in 13th, Dereck Ramirez jumped up three spots reeling in a 10th place outing.

On Saturday night at Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa) for the 11th annual Nordic Nationals, Ramirez jumped up two spots in his heat logging a 6th place finish. Rolling off 16th, Dereck advanced through the field 11 positions to place 5th behind Johnny Scott, Zack VanderBeek, Lucas Schott, and Stormy Scott.

Dereck sits in seventh in the USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup point standings. Complete results from these events are available at www.USMTS.com.

May 6, 2018 - After Friday’s opener at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) was washed away by Mother Nature, Dereck Ramirez headed to Tri-State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma) on Saturday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned weekend. Passing four cars in his heat race, Ramirez landed a 2nd place finish behind Rodney Sanders positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the feature. Getting caught in a tangle late in the feature, Ramirez was an early retiree on lap 24 while being credited with a 17th place outing.

The following night at Creek County Speedway (Kellyville, Oklahoma) for the Henryetta Ford Clash at The Creek, Ramirez posted a 4th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 4 into the finale, Dereck scored a 2nd place finish behind Jake Timm. Breaking into the Top-10, Dereck Ramirez improved seven spots in the 40-lapper to place 8th.

Dereck is currently sixth in the USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup point standings. Complete results from these events are available at www.USMTS.com.
