May 26, 2019 - After a handful of rainouts, Dereck Ramirez returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Friday evening at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) for the 11th annual Spring Shootout. In a field of 27 cars, Dereck locked his spot into the opening night feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Cory Crapser. Rolling off 7th, Ramirez dropped two spots in the 44-lapper to place 9th.

The following night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) for the 11th annual Spring Shootout, Ramirez followed up a 5th place finish in his heat with a 2nd place finish in his B-Main behind Zack VanderBeek. Starting the feature in 16th, Dereck improved three positions logging a 13th place outing.  

Wrapping up the three-day stretch with the USMTS on Sunday, Dereck stopped at Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa) for the Nordic Nationals. Coming in 5th in his heat, Ramirez earned the 9th-starting position for the $2,500-to-win finale. Breaking into the Top-5, Dereck Ramirez reeled in a 5th place finish behind Jake O’Neil, Hunter Marriott, Rodney Sanders, and Ryan Gustin.
